Princess Camp

Dear Parents, Unfortunately my sister Elizabeth who usually runs the "Princess Camp" will be traveling this summer and will be unable to hold the camp this year. Sorry for the inconvenience and look out for Princess Camp next year!

What is Boys world?

Boys World of Adventure was started in 2000 by Nate Checketts and his 2 younger brothers. They were in High School and wanted to have a fun and demanding summer job, so they founded Boys World of Adventure. This camp allows the counselors and boys to interact in a fun and safe environment. They participate in a variety of activities from sports to swimming, arts & crafts and much more. Over the years counselors have come to know and love many of the campers and their families. Boy's World has become a summer-time tradition in New Canaan and a source of many wonderful memories.

What are the weeks of Boys World?

Boys world will have 4 weeks this year.

Week 1: June 22-26
Week 2: June 29- July 3
Week 3: July 6-10
Week 4: July 13-17

Each week is Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M to 12:30 P.M.

What are the ages of Boys World?

Boys ages range from 4-10 (exceptions are possible)

Where is Boys World?

Boys world has been and will be at my home in New Canaan. The address is 27 Father Peters Lane, which is off of Michigan rd, (right off 123, past the country club). If you need directions please e-mail me (Boysworldofadventure@yahoo.com)

What is a typical day of Boys World like?

- 8:45-9:00- Drop off
o A counselor will meet each child and bring them to their own cubby, where they will have a place to store their lunches and bathing suits. Waiting for them on their first day is their very own Boys World t-shirt. (we encourage car-pooling, to avoid build up)

- The rest of the day the campers will be split up into groups. An older and younger group.
o The older group will play a more variety of sports and games, ranging from soccer (my favorite) , to basketball, capture the flag and more.
o The younger ones also will play games and sports but it’s a little more relaxed. We play games like, freeze tag, red light green light and other favorites.
o Each group will have a snack break and plenty of drinking breaks. (snacks and drinks are provided by boys world) this keeps them hydrated and gives them lots of energy.
o The older and younger group each have a swim time as well (separated from each other). We treat swim time as a great way to cool off. There are rules and safety is our number one priority. The counselor to camper ratio in the pool is usually around 1:3. Kids are not required to swim but we do ask that if they are not good swimmers that a floaty is brought with them.
- This year we are offering an extra service. From 1:00-2:00 a private swim lesson can be arranged. (I have my lifeguarding, life saving and swimming merit badges from the scouting program.) Each lesson will be catered to the needs of the child, but can range from simply helping them overcome their fear of water to teaching them swimming and floating techniques.
o Each camper should bring their own lunch to eat during the day, after swimming the campers will have a lunch break.
- Pick up 12:15-12:45.
o There are two ways to pick your child up
- At 12:15 a counselor will be waiting at the drive way to greet parents. The parents can then wait in or by their cars while the counselor gets the child and their belongings together and brings the child to their parents.
- Parents can park and walk into the back to watch the last few minutes of camp and pick up their child. This prevents children from going out into the driveway to meet their parents.

How do I sign up?
